How Adactiv uses AI
Last updated: August 18, 2026 · Applies to the Adactiv app (iOS, Android, Web) and to adactiv.app
Parts of Adactiv are powered by generative AI. This page says exactly where, what the AI does, what it doesn't do, and where the humans are. It is our transparency notice under the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, Article 50) and Swiss law. It is written to be read, not skimmed.

Model
Google Gemini (generative AI), run on Google Cloud. Adactiv builds the features on top of it.
Risk class
Not a high-risk AI system. Not a medical device. The AI Act's transparency obligations apply, and we follow them.
1. Where you meet AI in Adactiv
EU AI Act · Art. 50(1) · disclosure of AI interaction
1.1 AI Coach (chat)
When you open the AI Coach, you are talking to an AI system, not to a person. It is labelled "AI Coach" in the app and on this website. Every reply is generated on the spot from your question, your current plan and the training and nutrition data you have logged. If you choose to send it a photo (of a meal, your form or your physique), the photo is used to answer that question and for nothing else. Replies can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Nobody at Adactiv reads along or reviews individual answers before you see them.
1.2 Training plans
Your plan is generated by AI from what you tell us (sports, goals, schedule, experience, injuries and limitations you enter) and adjusted by our scheduling logic and by what you actually log. It is a suggestion. You can change any session, and a human coach connected to your account can override it.
1.3 AI Food Analyst
Point the camera at a meal and the AI estimates what is on the plate, roughly how much, and the resulting calories and macros. Barcodes are looked up in a food database instead. Photo results are estimates, not measurements. Edit them whenever precision matters to you.
2. What is not AI
- Coach messaging. Messages between you and a coach on Adactiv are written by that human coach. The app keeps the AI Coach and human coaches visibly separate.
- Your logs. Sets, reps, weights, meals, body weight and streaks are recorded exactly as you enter them.
- No hidden AI decisions. Adactiv does not use AI to set your price, restrict your access, score you, or profile you for advertising. AI output in Adactiv is a recommendation you can accept, edit or ignore.
3. Limits and safety
3.1 Not medical advice
The AI cannot examine you. It only knows what you type in. It does not diagnose, treat or replace a doctor, physiotherapist or dietitian. If you are injured, ill, pregnant, recovering from surgery or have a medical condition, talk to a qualified professional before following any plan. If you feel unwell during training, stop. The full medical disclaimer is in our Terms of Service, section 2.
3.2 It can be wrong
Generative models sometimes state things confidently that are incorrect. Treat unusual advice (large load jumps, extreme diets, supplement recommendations) with the same scepticism you would apply to a stranger in the gym, and cross-check anything that matters.
3.3 You stay in control
Every plan and every food entry is editable. You can ignore the AI entirely and train on your own logs. You can ask a human coach. You can delete your AI Coach conversation history by deleting your account (see Delete account).
4. The technology behind it
4.1 Who is responsible
For the purposes of the EU AI Act, Adactiv (Gebrüder Schuler keramische Plattenbeläge und Akkordarbeiten GmbH, Seewen SZ, Switzerland) is the provider of the AI features described on this page. We design the prompts, the safety instructions and the way the AI is embedded in the app. The underlying general-purpose model is Google Gemini, supplied by Google and run on Google Cloud infrastructure. Model versions change over time; if a change materially alters how a feature behaves, we tell you in the app.
4.2 What data the AI sees
To generate an answer, the inputs the feature needs (your question, the relevant parts of your profile and plan, recent logs, or a photo you take or send) are sent to Google for processing and the result is returned to your app. Adactiv does not use your conversations, plans or photos to train AI models. What is stored, for how long, and your rights are set out in our Privacy Policy.
4.3 What we don't do
We do not use AI for emotion recognition, and we do not use it to identify you or anyone else from a photo. Meal photos are analysed for food and nothing else; a photo you send the AI Coach is analysed for your question and nothing else. We do not use manipulative or deceptive techniques, and we do not build a "score" of you.
5. AI-generated visuals on this website
EU AI Act · Art. 50(4) · disclosure of AI-generated content
Some campaign visuals on adactiv.app were created with generative AI: the black-and-white athlete portraits in the sports gallery and the coach and gym backdrops on the home page, and the visuals on the Partner page. The people and places in them are fictional. Each of these images carries an AI-generated visual label where it appears. App screenshots are real screenshots. Photos of real people are real photos and are not labelled as AI.
6. How we keep this honest
- Before we switch models or change the AI's instructions, we test with real training and nutrition scenarios.
- If you report a wrong or unsafe answer, a human looks at it.
- The people building Adactiv keep their own understanding of these models current: what they are good at, and where they fail.
- We update this page whenever an AI feature or the model behind it changes materially.
7. Questions, complaints and your rights
Questions about how Adactiv uses AI, or a complaint about an AI answer: write to info@adactiv.app with "AI" in the subject line. Your data rights (access, correction, deletion, objection) are described in the Privacy Policy. If you live in the EU, you may also lodge a complaint about an AI-Act matter with the market surveillance authority of your member state.
